WAR & CONFLICT
The Burns War and Conflict Collection is composed of photographs of every major war, and countless disputes, especially the American Civil War, World War I, and World War II. The WWII Collection is the most extensive, documenting almost all of America’s operations in the Pacific and Europe, as well as never-before-seen albums of private photographs taken by German servicemen. Other rare albums include those from the Russo-Japanese War, Chinese-American incidents, the German Revolution, and personal albums from servicemen from a variety of conflicts. The Archive houses thousands of wartime photos, including American and European colonial confrontations, the Spanish American War, Boer War, Philippine Insurrection, Boxer Rebellion, German Revolution, Mexican Revolution, Russian Revolution, images of minor revolts in Cuba, Syria, and Morocco, and much, much more.
