War (Crimean-WWII)

The War Collection consists of photographs taken of all major and many minor confrontations from the Crimean War through Vietnam. The archive has world class accumulations of images, including unique special albums of The Civil War, Spanish American War, Philippine Insurrection, Boer War, Boxer Rebellion, Mexican Revolution, WWI and WWII.

The WWII collection is the most extensive. Almost all American theatre's of operation in the Pacific and Europe are represented. One the most important aspects of the WWII collection is the original images and unique albums from the German side. Minor and local wars represented in depth are, Franco-Prussian, Macedonian Wars(1897-1912), Spanish Civil War, Mexican Revolution, Russian Revolution, Arab- Israeli wars and the Hungarian Uprising (1956). Images from various American and European colonial confrontations are available such as England's Zulu and Opium Wars and America's Haiti, Nicaragua, and Santo Dominican incursions, etc.
