Social & Labor Movements


This collection contains photographs of people and events worldwide relating to social and labor movements. From the 1877 Chicago teamsters strike to the Ford Motor Company strikes to Depression era American Communist party marches to the Vietnam protests, the archive is rich in iconic images. The early American labor movement, temperance societies, the Ku Klux Klan, fraternities, menÕs groups, police and striker brutality are all documented. In childrens images we offer, the usual array of child labor excesses, plus many rare photo's of orphans, orphanages, child abuse and the practices of home piece goods manufacturing.
