Early Color Photography

The Early Color Photography Collection consists of photographs that were hand colored. From tinted daguerreotypes to the 1940's photographs were colored by artists so skillfully that most appear to be natural and from nature. Our book Forgotten Marriage... tells the story of these early attempts at colored art. If you are looking to enhance a documentary or historic text we may have that vintage image in a special colored edition.
