U.S. Capitol Without its Dome 1859
As with any classification much of architecture material may be found in other categories. Photographs that were taken to illustrate construction or design are found here. Images that incidentally show important building construction are also here, an example of this would be a street scene of Washington D.C. in the 1840's to 60's showing the U.S. Capitol Dome under construction.
